Braces for All Ages!

Children
Our team follows the recommendation given by the American Association of Orthodontists® that children receive their first orthodontic screening by the time they are 7 years old. We encourage the families we work with to bring their children in around this age so our orthodontist can examine their smile and identify any potential orthodontic problems that our team can correct before they become more serious. Taking preventive action with early orthodontic treatment can help you save time and money.

Early orthodontic treatment, sometimes called phase one or phase I treatment, allows our orthodontist to guide your child’s teeth as they finish erupting, correcting issues early to prevent problems later. It can be used to:

  • Reduce orthodontic treatment time overall
  • Avoid the need for potential extractions
  • Create room for crowded teeth as they erupt
  • Preserve room for teeth that have yet to erupt
  • Maintain facial symmetry and guide jaw growth

Teens
The teen years, starting at 12 years of age, are an ideal time to begin the second stage of orthodontic treatment (phase 2 or phase II) or to start your first orthodontic treatments.

Adults
While orthodontic treatment may be seen as a cosmetic treatment, having properly aligned teeth can also make a large difference in the health and function of your smile. A straighter smile is less prone to tooth decay, gum recession, bone loss, TMJ (TMD) pain or irregular wear on your teeth.

Type of Braces

Metal Brackets — The most common and cost efficient. They are made of stainless steel. Metal Brackets today are less bulky and more comfortable.

Iconix Brackets — More aesthetically pleasing option vs traditional brackets. They are champagne coated stainless-steel brackets that are more durable and more comfortable than the rival of ceramic brackets.

Invisalign® — Clear aligners are a great subtle option to brackets. They are custom made aligners generated by a computer with the help of our Orthodontist to gradually and comfortably move your teeth.
