Drs. Jonathan and Kristen Angwin are a husband and wife team your whole family will love! They focus on providing excellence in dentistry for patients of all ages and provide gentle care for the entire family. Their practice philosophy is to create beautiful, healthy smiles and build lasting relationships with their patients.
Dr. Jonathan was born and raised in Irving, Texas, and graduated from Nimitz High School. Upon graduation, he completed his undergraduate studies in biology at the University of Texas at Arlington and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Jonathan has completed advanced training in aesthetic and restorative dentistry at both Hornbrook and Spear Education. He stays current with the latest advances in dentistry so he can provide each patient with the best care possible. Dr. Jonathan is a member of the American Dental Association®, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is a recipient of the Crown Council Young Dentist of the Year Award as well as the Hornbrook Over the Shoulder Scholarship. His eye for detail, devotion to high quality and passion for dentistry have given him a reputation among his peers and patients as an excellent clinician.
Dr. Kristen grew up in Colleyville, Texas, and graduated from Grapevine High School. She completed her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Texas at Arlington and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Baylor College of Dentistry. She has continued her education through an associate fellowship at the Academy of GP Orthodontics, a pediatric mini residency at the University of Florida and attendance at Rondeau Seminars on oral appliance therapy for patient airways. Dr. Kristen is a member of the Academy of GP Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and International Association of Orthodontics. She was the recipient of the Crown Council Young Dentist of the Year Award, the Mom Approved Dentist Award and a Hornbrook Over the Shoulder Scholarship. Dr. Kristen welcomes patients of all ages, including the smallest members of the family. Children especially love Dr. Kristen and her ability to make their dental visits fun and enjoyable experiences.
Dr. Jonathan and Dr. Kristen opened Just for Grins Family Dentistry and Orthodontics in December of 2008. Together, they have won the Crown Council Practice of the Month and have been a three-time recipient of the Keller Citizen Best of the Best Dentist Award. They are members of the Crown Council, a prestigious alliance of leading-edge dentists around the world who are strongly committed to promoting oral health, fighting oral cancer and serving their communities through charitable work. Dr. Jonathan and Dr. Kristen have been married since 2003 and currently reside in Keller, Texas, with their son, Landen, and daughter, Makynlee. They are active in their community and church. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling, spending time together at Lake Grapevine, and watching Landen play basketball and Makynlee compete in dance.
Dr. Ryan Angwin was born and raised in Irving, Texas — just like his dentist brother, Dr. Jonathan Angwin. A graduate of Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dr. Ryan is happy to be working alongside his brother and sister-in-law at Just for Grins Family Dentistry and Orthodontics. He also enjoys the opportunity to help others and educate his patients on how they can improve their oral health.Dr. Angwin is a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers. In his spare time, he likes to play basketball and softball.
Orthodontist
Dr. Elisa is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and has been in Texas since 2020. She absolutely loves it! She holds a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island. She graduated from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and went on to receive her specialty certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics from the Georgia School of Orthodontics. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists®, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association and the Southwest Society of Orthodontists. She takes pride in her work, and her goal is to provide exceptional care and treatment to her patients. She is married to her husband, Rex, and they have two children, Violet and Rex, and two dogs, Charlie and Bacardi. She is always in search of really good food (burgers, pizza, barbecue, sushi, etc.) and has been known to travel up to two hours for a great burger!
Dr. Samantha was born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, and graduated from Bishop Dunne High School. Upon graduation, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry. She then moved to Colorado (her husband’s home state) and worked there for five years in rural communities to provide care to underserved populations. As she and her husband, Mario, began growing their family, they returned to Texas to be closer to family. Dr. Samantha has two children, Nicole and Marcus, and a large German Shepherd, Gimli. She has a passion for working with children and is very excited to work alongside Dr. Kristen and the pediatric team!
